INNOVATION AWARD for Zeppelin Maquinaria at SALAMAQ 2026

Zeppelin Maquinaria has won its third award at the 2026 SALAMAQ Innovation Awards in recognition of its Rural Fire Prevention Response Unit, developed in partnership with ECOFIRE®, a system designed for field operations and to facilitate a rapid response to emergencies.

We wrapped up our participation in this year’s SALAMAQ 2026, held September 3–7 at the Salamanca Fairgrounds, with recognition of the innovation and quality of what was one of the main highlights at our booth: fire prevention and rural fire protection.

The Provincial Council of Salamanca presented the 3rd SALAMAQ 2026 Innovation Awards to highlight the talent, effort, and innovative capacity of those who are part of this sector. In this third edition of the Innovation Awards, in which 23 exhibitors submitted their nominations, the quality and originality of their products or services were recognized, as well as their impact on the agricultural and agri-food sectors and their contribution to improving people’s quality of life. Santiago Castañeda, a representative of Salamaq, presented us with third prize for our Rural Fire Prevention Response Unit.

The biggest draw was the live demonstration of the ECOFIRE® product, which exceeded all expectations and attracted a huge crowd of spectators and interested parties. César Sallén, the creator and inventor of ECOFIRE®, was in charge of demonstrating all the properties of this innovative solution in a practical, controlled test. Farmers, ranchers, government officials, and all kinds of professionals in rural areas were able to see firsthand how this product performs in a fire.

Zeppelin and Fire Prevention

SALAMAQ 2026 has provided a great opportunity to shine a spotlight on fire prevention, in a context where the maintenance of forests, farms, trails, and agricultural operations is essential. Prevention begins long before a fire breaks out—that is the message we at Zeppelin wanted to convey. That is why providing the rural community with a tool to help them respond to such situations was one of our main objectives at this year’s SALAMAQ 2026.

The proposal is based on a particularly important reality in rural areas: the ability to respond during the initial moments of an incident can be critical in limiting its spread until professional emergency services arrive. Zeppelin’s goal: to offer farms, livestock operations, professionals, organizations, and government agencies a solution that strengthens the resources available for an initial response to fires.

This is why our Rural Fire Prevention Response Unit has been a success, thanks to the use of the ECOFIRE® product . This unit features a towed tank with a capacity of 2,000 liters, a pump, and two hose reels—a configuration that allows it to operate from various points around the unit.

Its towed design also makes it easy to use in conjunction with agricultural machinery, which is particularly useful on farms, ranches, and in rural areas where the immediate availability of equipment can be critical in the event of an incident.

The application of ECOFIRE®, a fire-retardant product, is 30 to 40 times more effective than water. This product is 100% eco-friendly, biodegradable, and organic, and is harmless to people, animals, and plants.
